EXOGRID® TECHNOLOGY Increases handle stiffness and strength without increasing weight.
To achieve this, we start with a one-piece bat, unlike our competitors weaker two-piece designs. First, metal is trimmed from the handle in a grid pattern to reduce overall handle weight. The metal is replaced with carbon inserts that are several times stiffer and lighter than the metal it replaces. For optimum stiffness, we then insert a carbon sleeve with unidirectional fibers that run the length of the handle. Finally, using a combination of heat and extreme pressure, the inserts, sleeve and metal wall are bonded together to work as a single, solid unit. This results in stiffness and strength never possible with aluminum alone.
ONE-PIECE CONSTRUCTION - The competition's two-piece designs result in weakness at the joint of the handle and barrel. Our one-piece construction ensures maximum strength and gives you better performance.
CARBON COMPOSITE INSERTS - Metal is trimmed in a grid pattern then replaced with carbon composite inserts that are several times stiffer and lighter than the metal it replaces.
INTERNAL CARBON COMPOSITE SLEEVE - The heart of the Exogrid is the carbon sleeve, which provides greater handle stiffness than aluminum alone ever could. Unidirectional fibers run the full length of the handle.
EXCLUSIVE EXOGRID BI/FUSION PROCESS - Using a combination of heat and extreme pressure, the sleeve, inserts and metal wall are bonded to function as a single, solid unit.
For seven of the past nine years the national championship has gone to teams swinging stiff-handle Louisville Slugger bats. Today we've taken our winning stiff-handle design to a totally new level with the new, innovative Exogrid.
The Exogrid is the best Louisville Slugger bat produced to date, period. You want power? You want maximum performance from the hit? You want a bat that will make you the best hitter you can possibly be? Exogrid gives you all this and more.
The Exogrid concept is simple: increase handle stiffness and strength without increasing weight.
Stiff is good. Stiffer is even better.
Sure, some bat makers are still pushing the trendy flexible-handle bats. But if you'll look at who's winning championships, you're going to see one name over and over: Louisville Slugger.
As top players and coaches will tell you, a flexible handle actually reduces performance for most players. That's because it bends just when you don't want it to - while the ball is in contact with the bat.
Optimum performance comes from a stiff-handle combined with a flexible barrel for maximum trampoline effect. And it doesn't get any stiffer than the Exogrid.
So swing one for yourself. You'll quickly see why the stiff handle technology of Louisville Slugger dominates the game, year after year after year.
